Luigis Mansion 2 Dark Moon Game 3DS Product Description

Please note 3DS console required to play - not compatible with original DS consoles.

Luigi is back on a mission to remove a bunch of stubborn ghosts from some super-spooky mansions with his trusty
“Poltergust” ghost-grabbing vacuum cleaner. This time around the ghosts are craftier than ever... Just shining a light on them won’t phase these phantoms; instead you’ll need to shock them with a strobe of light before you
can begin to vacuum them up. Incorporating more puzzles than its GameCube predecessor, Luigi’s Mansion 2 will put your grey matter to the test. An array of different ghosts haunt the various mansions, so you’d best get geared-up to help poor easily-scared Luigi figure out how to defeat each one!
The old mansions hide secrets aplenty, but that’s just an invitation to exploration for a man armed with a very special
vacuum cleaner! On top of hoovering up piles of leaves to reveal hidden hoards or sucking up stacks of cash, the Poltergust can
gobble wallpaper and more to reveal secrets, unearth newareas and unveil treasure chests...
Up to four players* can join up and journey into the Scarescraper jam-packed with paranormal creatures. In
Hunter Mode, each player controls a different colour Luigi and is challenged to hunt down ghosts and use effective
teamwork to clear each floor of the tower before the clock strikes zero.
Bonuses and upgrades can be earned depending on how well the team performs, helping to get the ghost-hunting
team to the boss battles awaiting at the top of each tower. Players can choose the number of floors in this mode
ranging from 5, 10 or 25. They can also adjust the difficulty to cater to both new and veteran gamers. Fallen players can
even be revived by their teammates to keep the adventure going.

Luigi's Mansion 2 3D Features:

  • Shining a light on the ghosts is no longer enough to stun them into immobility. Players need to activate a strobe function and release it to stun the ghosts before sucking them up with the Poltergust.
  • Different types of ghosts haunt the different mansions. Luigi must figure out how to defeat each one of them and find hidden secrets to unlock new areas and treasure chests. These new elements add more variety and introduce new puzzle-solving mechanics.
  • Players can use the Poltergust to help Luigi remove wallpaper to reveal hidden areas, clean up piles of treasure-hiding leaves or suck up stacks of coins and bills. But in reality, the nervous and reluctant Luigi just wants to get as far away from these ghosts as possible.
  • The 3D visuals bring the mansions, ghosts and surroundings to life. Players experience all the haunting chills and fun the game has to offer.
  • This game is the first follow-up to the 2001 Nintendo GameCube™ launch title Luigi’s Mansion™.

So many years after the original Nintendo Game-cube release, the sequel has arrived. This game is easily one of the best games for the 3DS. The gameplay is simple yet addictive. The game is incredibly charming Luigi, Professor E.Gadd and even the ghosts are all imbued with great personality. This makes the game a treat to play. The graphics are fantastic, the 3d depth is well utilised and the controls are easy to use and are mapped out well to the 3DS . If you own a 3DS or was a fan of the original game all those years ago then this is worth playing.

Got this game on the eShop and I loved it. 3D effect isn't overused, which is nice. Graphically it's very similar to the original on GameCube, but there are some additional features in place to make the game more challenging and rewarding. The controls will take some getting used to (I prefer buttons to using the 3DS gyroscope to aim up and down. What's the point in having a gyro in a console that requires you to view the screen front-on at all times?) but once you master the controls, you'll be stunning and trapping ghosts and spiders in no time. Each are is split into sub-missions, each of which takes between 10 and 45 minutes to get through, plus there are rewards for replaying missions to find hidden treasure and the elusive Boos. Multiplayer is also a hoot, and I love the 3DS (and previously DS) for its ability to allow multiplayer locally even with only one copy of the game. 3DS has been a bit dry since Christmas, and this is a great game that should keep you occupied happily until Lego City or Fire Emblem. Or Animal Crossing! I reckon when that lands, I'll be buying no more games for a year...

The wait for this game felt so long (But it really wasn't, I just wanted to play it!), but it was so worth it. Such a fun game with puzzles to complete and ghosts to capture. And of course, like any Mario/Luigi game, coins to collect! The gameplay does not disappoint and is a must have for any 3DS library. My only gripe is that you need to unlock multiplayer, as I purchased two copies (One for myself and one for my partner) I have to wait for him to catch up with my and unlock multiplayer, so we cannot just jump into a quick game together.

I have been waiting too long for this game! It bring back sooo many good memories from the original! There are some interesting concepts in the sequel, and the level system works well in allowing you to play for little bit at a time. If you loved the original, you'll definitely love the sequel! And if you didn't, or haven't played it before, what's wrong with you?! It's by far one of the best games on the system.

Luigi's mansion 2 is a great sequel to a great game. Fans of the original will really enjoy the 3ds version. There are now more mansions to complete with new ways of fighting ghosts. The cooperative mode is also great fun when you want to beat some ghosts with a friend.
