Kingdoms of Amalur has an amazing amount of potential. The combat is really very good and the graphics are nice. The "class" system is awesome as it lets you chop and change your abilities as you choose. The storyline and world lore is fantastic. The game suffers from poor side quest design though.

This is a fantastic RPG despite what alot of reviews have been saying about it. It reminded me alot of Fable 1 - The Lost Chapters similar graphic looking style and similar combat which is why I love it. The developers said they were aiming for a cross between god of war and skyrim type game but I think its alot more like fable than skyrim I do agree with the god of war comparison. Where it falls down and the reason I think alot of ppl dont like it is cos the voice acting is bad and the story is nothing special also its pretty stereotypical with it lore and fantasy elements. eg elves dwalves magic etc nothing ground breaking or innovative. still its a great game and definitely worth playing :)

The game keeps you exploring from places to places while having a strong and broad combat system, the grpahics aren't the greatest but the gameplay makes up for it and its storyline and its a long game to completely finish. I'd reccomened it for any type of RPG player that has experienced different types of RPG's.

i honestly didn't know what to make of this game when i bought it. but after playing it a while i really enjoyed it. Max out the settings for some awesome breathtaking beauty. The controls a good too and suit an RPG noob like me. i love BEING in a good story and fleshing it out by MY actions. One question remains.... why is it in every game dwarfs have british accents????

Although the game is beautiful, and the combat is visceral and exciting, the game suffers due to it's original design. Because this game was always planned as an MMORPG, and only became the single player RPG it is now, the world is large, but mostly empty, the questing is mainly of the "Fetch this" or "go kill" variety, and the NPC rarely have anything interesting to say. Despite this, though, the game manages to be enthralling and exciting, and definitely worth a play, for this price.
