An excellent RPG with a solid story, great cast of characters (particularly the protagonist), varied locales, and enjoyable gameplay. Only major downside is that many of the side-quests are the typical repetitive "go here and hunt those" ones. Spiced up a bit by requiring you to purchase books about the monsters in question so you know how to permanently end them, but still.

This is a great sequel, the combat is great the story is fantastic. The quality of the game still look amazing in comparison to current consoles. The game also being a port has been done quite well and I've not run into many bugs as of yet. Overall a great game and the third will be amazing.

You like fantasy? Mature fantasy, not the kid stuff? Buy this game. Just do it. This game is essentially perfect, I can think of no flaws whatsoever without outside very minor nitpicks. You don't even particularly have to but I would highly recommend at least looking up the story of the last game. The developers behind this game as well are some of the best I have ever crossed.

The best way to describe CD Projekt Red is 'the new Bioware'. While Bioware's star is on the wane, CD Projekt Red is shining bright as they push and aspire for a level of maturity in narrative not present in Triple A Gaming. The Witcher 2 is a prime example of this. Truly, properly mature - capable of incorporating the fantasy mainstays of violence, nudity and sex into the story in a way that is adult and not gratuitous. The gameplay supports this strong narrative - while occasionally clunky, it works to immerse the player and not overshadow the engrossing story.

Probably one of the best games I've ever played. The game has adult themes that go beyond mere romance and extend to politics, war, and a story where good and bad is a matter of perspective. As Lisa mentioned before me, the story is based on a book written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. It may be possible to get a translated copy of the book, but if you read the in-game codex then you can pick up things that help you make more sense of the game. A very engaging game, five stars.
