Rare Replay is an exhaustive and comprehensive selection of Rare's best work - well, when it doesn't belong to Nintendo, anyway. It's a great way to get ahold of Banjo-Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Battletoads, and all sorts of "modern" classics, but the best feature of this title is arguably the retro PC titles. I'm going to bet that most people outside of Britain haven't even heard of some of these games, but they're all here, for better or worse - a trip through history for the many of us who likely haven't seen or touched a ZX Spectrum, yet alone played a game on one.
It's all bolstered by a fascinating series of unlockable documentaries that provide a rare (heh) insight into how the studio approached each of their projects from unique directions. Of note is the Battletoads interviews, which aptly address the infamy of the game's wretched difficulty curve with a candid sincerity. These videos are easily worth the price of admission alone.
