Bowser has once again kidnapped Princess Peach, but this time, Mario has another objective. The Mushroom Kingdom is bursting with more gold coins than before.
Each level is littered with gold as coins rain down from overhead pipes, trails of coins are left behind special gold enemies and gold pipes transport Mario into coin-filled caverns. It's up to players to collect as many coins as possible throughout their adventure.

Learn more about usThe second entry in the handheld New Super Mario Bros is all about coin collecting! Mario and Luigi take a page out of Wario's book in this follow-up to the DS original. The 3D-rendered 2D-gameplay is back, along with the new Mega-mushroom and mini-mushroom powerups. However, other than the new coin rush mode, there is very little to distinguish this game from it's predecessor. It is also quite an easy game to complete, but is still an excellent example of portable platforming, especially if you never played the original.
This game is a lot like the classic super 2D Mario games that have been around for years whitch makes it really fun to have a game on the DS with a great retro feel. This game is really great and does justice to those old Mario games it's well worth buying.
This is a great game in the Super Mario series. They've used the classic model for the games, but it still feels fun and alive. It's one of those games where you can either surge through all the levels at once, or you can play a few levels and come back to it in a few months. Either way, there's tons of hours of play on this game, especially if you're set on earning all the achievements!
I am a HUGE Mario fan...so much so that I bought the 3DS just to play Super Mario 3D Land. So obviously I had to have Super Mario Bros. 2 ASAP. I've been playing it for about a week now and LOVE it just as much as, if not more than, 3D Land. Tons of hidden items, boards, extras, etc., which I love to search out and find. If you're a Mario fan, you must own this game...perfect, classic Mario game. This game is challenging enough (if you avoid the temptation to use the golden raccoon tail Mario when it's available) and also easy enough, I believe, for a younger child.
Great little game for hours of entertainment and laughter! Main issue is the hardness of finding the bonus levels hidden throughout the game. Without a walk through many would not know that the hidden levels even existed within the game. Personally i felt the game could have lasted longer and had a few more worlds kinda like the Wii version!
