Game of Thrones Cast Say Goodbye To Fans

We’re not crying, you’re crying.

Just like that it’s all over, after 8 spectacular (controversial) seasons, Game of Thrones has come to an end and I think it’s fair to say that season 8 has been by far the most shocking, jam-packed, action-filled and plot twisted season in GoT history. Not to mention the most controversial!

Even if you didn’t agree with the conclusion, I think everyone will agree when we say that the past 8 seasons have been an amazing, emotional ride and I don’t think there will ever be another show quite like Game of Thrones, at least for a very long time.

There has been a lot of sex, violence and political intrigue that, even if you were the shows biggest fan, you would still struggle to recall everything as the cast is just so big and there have been so many complex storylines.

So to end the past 8 seasons on a positive and quite emotional note, HBO released a video onto their youtube channel with some of the shows biggest and favourite stars, thanking all of its viewers for sticking with them on this journey.

Maisie Williams, Isaac Hempstead Wright, John Bradley, Sophie Turner, Emelia Clarke and Kristofer Hivju all make appearances in the video but the clip of Gwendoline Christie, AKA Brienne of Tarth, got me right in the heart. It was especially moving to watch as she admits how she never expected people to like Brienne of Tarth and was certainly prepared for people not to during the show.

Emelia Clarke also fell into her emotions in the video, saying thank you to everyone she doesn’t know, for allowing the characters to keep playing the games and telling the stories they told. With tears in her eyes, she finishes by saying how the fans have given her an identity that she didn’t even have and it really shows us just how much not only the show means to them all but the fans of the show mean to them as well.

But just as Kristofer Hivju AKA Tormund Giantsbane said, “Everything has an end, even Game of Thrones” and that is true, after 8 emotionally long years it has come to an end and I really don’t know what to do with myself.

What did you think of season 8’s finale? And how did you think the show should have ended?
