Product Description

The Complete Superman Anthology Collection Blu-Ray

For the Superman completist, a bumper collection of all five films in the Superman saga.

Superman: The Movie - Special Edition sees the birth of a legend as we are introduced to the titular superhero and his Kryptonian origins. Also included is the expanded edition, which features an additional eight minutes of screen time.

This is followed by Superman II - Special Edition in which our boy in blue must do battle with three escaped super criminals bent on destroying the earth. Presented here in both its theatrical and director's cut versions, the latter is expanded by an alternate beginning and ending, as well as 15 minutes of restored footage of Marlon Brando as Jor-El.

In the third instalment in the franchise, Superman III - Deluxe Edition, Superman learns of his Achilles heel when he is exposed to kryptonite.

The penultimate Superman IV - The Quest For Peace sees the Man of Steel take on Nuclear Man, culminating in an explosive showdown of epic proportions.

When the Super One returns to Earth in Superman Returns - Special Edition, he discovers that the woman he loves, Lois Lane, has moved on with her life, and must figure out how to protect a world that has learned to survive without him.

This is an EXHAUSTIVE Superman retrospective that no self-respecting fan of the Man of Tomorrow ought to be without. Included are Superman I-through-IV,the 'Richard Donner cut' of Superman II, Bryan Singer's Superman Returns (underrated movie), the fantastic Superman vs. the Mole Men starring George Reeves, the c. 1940 Max + Dave Fleischer animated shorts, the Singer-produced documentary 'Look, Up in the Sky!', and more making-ofs, TV specials, series pilots, etc. than you can shake a kryptonite shard at. This box is more than worth the money, and a Superman fan will virtually never have to buy anything again (at least until Snyder's Man of Steel, hah).

by Ryan on October 9th 2012

This movies are much like the Karate Kid series, with the first one being by far the strongest. A steady decay with the 2nd being not quite as good as the 1st, before the series completely hits you for 6 by throwing 2 very sub-par films at you at the end to permanently make fans of the series worry about what movie-makers are able to do with the Man of Steel.

by Nathan on September 19th 2012

I cant honestly say ive ever liked any of the films in the super man franchise. I had hopes that the latest installment would bring superman into a new light but sadly just fell short. You gotta remember that these films are form the 80s amd come with the appropriate level of cheese.

by Chris on July 30th 2012

A lot of cheese and quite campy but Christopher Reeve was undeniably a good Superman and Clark Kent. Worth watching before 'Man of Steel' comes out this year just to see how far the franchise has come. Superman is one of my favourite superheroes and is begging to have an amazing movie made about him!
