America in the 19th century: You are a rancher and repeatedly herd your cattle from Texas to Kansas City, where you send them off by train. This earns you money and victory points. Needless to say, each time you arrive in Kansas City, you want to have your most valuable cattle in tow. However, the "Great Western Trail" not only requires that you keep your herd in good shape, but also that you wisely use the various buildings along the trail. Also, it might be a good idea to hire capable staff: cowboys to improve your herd, craftsmen to build your very own buildings, or engineers for the important railroad line. If you cleverly manage your herd and navigate the opportunities and pitfalls of Great Western Trail, you surely will gain the most victory points and win the game.

This game is a masterpiece in its genre, so don´t miss out this one because you will be depriving yourself of great amusement. The game might take longer than expected in the first plays due to some analyzes paralysis (AP), this is not for the complexity of the game (mechanically speaking) which at the end is pretty simple, but for its multiple options in your turn and new players aiming to be as efficient as possible when reaching Kanzas City.
Good luck cowboys!

An absolute marathon of a game. It took my wife and I the better part of 5 hours to play the first time, with setting up and consulting the rules frequently. Eventually, however, everything falls into place and the game actually moves very fast and simply. Once you comprehend the game, there are an infinite amount of variables that make it incredibly challenging and fun. A brilliant example of a complicated, and yet rather simple, Euro game. Highly recommended.

Great heavy Euro with a fantastic theme. First play through does take a while (most games do) but once you get the hang of it, the game plays very fast and you don't even notice the time flying by. Amazing game! Thanks ozgameshop for fast shipping and great prices

This is a big beast of a game taking in the region of 4 hours with a rules explanation, however, it's one that shouldn't be missed. Combining rondell elements with deck building is sure to please. This designers other games (Mombasa, Isle of Skye, Broom Service) have also been very well received and are absolutely worth checking out. The games graphic design too, is excellent.
