After a brutal storm destroys the boat she was travelling on, a frightened young woman is left washed ashore on an unknown beach. On her own but not alone she has only one goal, to survive.
Here begins the first adventure for a young and inexperienced Lara Croft in a story which charts the journey of an ordinary woman who finds out just how far she must go in order to stay alive.
Armed with only the raw instincts and physical ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance, Tomb Raider delivers an intense and gritty story into the origins of Lara Croft and her ascent from a frightened young woman to a hardened survivor.

Nvidia users proceed with caution.
The reason i say this is this game when i played wasn't the best running on nvidia GFX cards at the time of this review ATI your all good you bloody good for nothing... anyways the game is short completed in 16 hours though it was all i played, however i quite liked the game felt like Uncharted but instead you play as a Hot Female :D i do recommend this game if you want a break from online FPS, or if you are a fan on the series you wont be disappointed

Ok, let me lead by saying this game is pretty gosh darn good. I enjoyed the controls, the action, the environment...I certainly enjoyed it a lot more than I've enjoyed the Uncharted series. And the scenery was just beautiful. That said, there were issues... well, one primarily. Why is it that male origin stories have a stoic badass becoming more so, but female origins have the woman starting as a crying wreck. Seriously I got tired of the number of times they reduced Lara to a crying mess. I get it, she's out of her depth and scared. We don't need to be reminded every 10 minutes. And some of the death scenes a little detailed. Not that I hate gore, just that the animators seemed to enjoy giving Lara visceral, brutal, drawn out deaths a little too much.
Still, the game is pretty awesome. Buy it.

Good to see this hasn't dropped into the bargain box because it's a true classic and the best of the Tombraider series so far. Excellent in every way. The control sceme is very polished, and noticable when playing something else afterwards. Not a huge game, nor short. But easily one of the best I have ever played.

This game is GREAT and here is why: even if you aren't a Tomb Raider fan or have never watched/played any of the previous installments you will still enjoy this game. The game features a nice rich story line, hint of RPG, puzzles, stealth elements and decent combat. I am playing it on normal difficulty but I am finding it too easy, so if you played fps games before I recommend playing on hard for a challenge.

A very enjoyable game and I congratulate the developers on their work. I had endless fun playing this game. The story is engaging and the character development is played out well. The (somewhat) open world layout along with the weapon parts give an extra motivation to go exploring around the island. Overall a great game and one that I would recommend to others.
