Shogun 2 Total War is truly the successor to Rome Total War for Creative Assembly's Total War Series. Empire and Napoleon Total War was okay but were not good enough to keep me playing past the 180 hours mark. Shogun 2 however, with its refined and fun game play, realism, historical accuracy and gory bloody effects with the blood pack DLC is just as immersing as Rome, which I truly enjoyed during my earlier childhood.
This is a strategy game like all total war games and is really fun. In this game it features game play from the Nobunaga Era in Japan with historically accurate information. Just like any other total war series it is really fun and you can keep on playing for hours. As an added bonus DLC containing more detailed blood effects and decapitations makes this game more realistic and fun. This is a definite MUST GET game for fans of strategy games of Total War fans.
Good strategy game, though should have been a dlc of the original game.<br /><br />Good standalone, has many more units, and allows naval combat which the first one doesn't have.<br />Though this game has less clans, but don't let that get you down, it is still a challenging game and is highly recommended by me.
Just like all Total War games it is superb, not only that it also includes some very nifty new features, and astonishing graphics(just note you may want to have a powerful system if you want to run it on ultra) the Campaign as usual provides you with a heap of military, social and diplomatic options, as well as a new great looking map, the combat is stunning, you will actually see you soldier performing kill moves on their foes, and a very dynamic movement system that truly does this game alot of justice, it has addictive multiplayer, fun skirmishes and an impressive online customisation system, a true total war game, now lets just hope Rome 2 is on the horizon!
