Cilla Black OBE was one of Great Britain’s most successful and best-loved entertainers of all-time – she had 19 UK ‘Top 40’ singles (including two #1 hits), released 15 studio albums, sold out concert venues around the world and presented many iconic British TV shows.
Cilla played such an important role in shaping British music and entertainment with her big break coming in 1963 when John Lennon introduced her to Brian Epstein. She quickly became an icon of her era and the best-selling British female recording artist in the UK during the 1960s, achieving 11 British Top Ten tracks and two consecutive #1s in 1964 with ‘Anyone Who Had A Heart’ and ‘You’re My World’ which both sold over 1 million copies worldwide.
This compilation features all of her top 40 singles including ‘Alfie,’ ‘You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feelin’ and ‘Something Tells Me (Something's Gonna Happen Tonight)’ as well as a DVD of her legendary TV performance at the Savoy.
To celebrate her musical legacy, Rhino will be rereleasing this #1 album with a fresh design, biography and new liner notes from her son Robert.
