Product Description

Agarest Generations Of War Game PS3

At the dawn of time, the world of Agarest was plunged into a terrible war between the forces of good and evil. Entire races fought and died for their divine masters, ending in the total destruction of Agarest. The victorious Gods of light unified their defeated foes, creating a new world and sealing their broken bodies into an eternity of darkness.

With the ancient wars fading into distant memory, all have forgotten the evil slumbering beneath their feet, but the darkness remembers. It watches. It waits. The seal that held the evil for aeons is fading and war is again raging among the Kingdoms of Men.

  • Choose the path of darkness or light through a truly epic story spanning 5 generations and featuring 60+ hours of gameplay
  • Battle hundreds of different creatures using an array of character abilities, in compelling and strategic turn-based combat
  • Unite with your chosen heroine using the "soul breed" system and together shape the fate of the next generation of heroes
  • Collect hundreds of items and weapons, and harness the power of alchemy to vastly improve equipment
  • Build the ultimate army of warriors and master Extra Skills, Special Arts and Over Kills to defeat colossal enemies!

it is a very long hours game series that i ever hardly play. For JRPG fans this may kills it. Graphic is the downside, sound and battle systems are okay, story is amazing you spent 5 generations long to finish the story line. I spent the whole christmas & new year to get this game done. In summary, its still worth it.

The entire Agarest series is a love it or hate it game. The pace is somewhat slow and it takes a while to get into it, but if you decide to give it a chance you'll find a very interesting and lengthy campaign with some really fun characters. The battles are fairly innovative for a standard grid based turn based system, sadly however they do tend to get repetitive, which is the game's key downfall.

I think this is a somewhat divisive game. I quite enjoyed many aspects of it. The battles are fun and require a good amout of thought and planning. I quite like the use of the Extended Area System. It allows you to link up characters and use their abilities no matter where they are in the turn order. Using this system correctly is the key to battlefield domination. But be aware your enemies can use it to, to just as great affect. I also quite enjoyed outfitting my characters, mixing and matching to squeeze out the best performance. I also enjoyed the characters. I found most of them endearing and amusing. But there are soooo many of them. Some of them feel a little superfluous. That said, there are a lot of things that can turn a gamer off. Firstly, this game is simply too long. Those fun battles I mentioned? I hope you enjoy them because there are thousands. They are, almost literally, the entirety of the gameplay. The game goes over 5 generations of heroes, but I found I needed a break between generations to play another game and prepare myself for the next generation. I don't think games should make you want to play other games. It is quite telling that the sequel only has 3 generations and the prequel 2. Also, the graphics aren't much to look at. I don't usually care too much about graphics, but since you will be seeing the same animations over and over...it gets a little tiresome. Anyway, I enjoyed this, and it is quite cheap. Rent it if you can and see if you like it.

This is very much a "love it or hate it" series. The graphics are on par with the original playstation, but it's a strategy J-RPG, so that doesn't matter too much. Look at Disgaea. As far as sound goes, it's not too bad. All of the voices are in Japanese and there is no English dub. As such, the text has been translated. Unfortunately, the translation falls flat at times, and can often lead the characters to say bizarre things. The battle system is slow, and there's often a formula that you can follow every time to guarantee success. If you're like me, you'll begin to dread the battle segments between elements of plot progression. The game will often hang for about half a second between battle animations, presumably due to poor implementation. It's very irksome, given that visually, there's nothing that really needs loading. If none of this bothers you, you'll have an incredibly long game to enjoy with plenty of characters to love (or attempt to...), but if presentation is important to you, steer clear of this one.
