Product Description

Atelier Totori The Adventurer of Arland Game PS3

The small fishing village of Alanya on the Arland Republic's southern border is home to the young alchemist-in-training Totooria Helmold. She is called Totori by her friends and family, and she wishes to become a great adventurer. One day, she resolves to make the journey to Arland, become an adventurer, and explore the world beyond her hometown. She will make many friends along her journey of discovery - some new, some familiar. When her quest comes to a close, your actions over the course of the game will dictate whether she finds the answers to her questions, forge unbreakable bonds with friends, or take different paths entirely.

  • Travel and map the Republic of Arlandover several years, exploring dozens of unique locales
  • Synthesize hundreds of items: ingredients, weapons, armor, and explosives to help you on your journey
  • Classic turn-based RPG combat brings strategy and a sense of nostalgia for gamers new and old
  • Several unique endings to experience will keep you playing even after finishing it the first time

Customer Reviews

This game is not within my typical picks and I was very doubtful at first as Rorona had major map and game play flaws that didn't meet my expectations for the Atelier series of games. Graphics of Rorona also lacked consistency between scenes and dialogue which I am very pleased were resolved in Totori (in short Sterk became cooler and his limit break/special combo make him the boss!) Like all atelier games, this will take you several play-throughs to get all trophies and unlock all endings. Be patient and enjoy the character events and stories as this storyline is by far the strongest in the series and the true ending will captivate you and drive you to play as many hours as it requires. This game and the story heavily impacted my decision to play Meruru, as the beloved characters from Totori return for additional character endings and events. Be sure to focus on money, weapons and gear when playing this game on each play-through. The three toughest characters are quickly revealed in this story and it becomes evident having Sterk in the party is the path for better gear and money which gets you to your ultimate weapons faster. Totori is a game you will love playing through a multitude of times so that you can journey with such beloved characters to find their happiness and achieve their goals.

If you're an Atelier fan, this game is as near perfect as you will find. If you are new to the series, or have only played Atelier Rorona, then this game is definitely worth a shot. It greatly expands the alchemy and questing system, eliminating unneeded aspects such as having to have the item in your basket when turning in items. The time limit is also much looser this time, allowing more time to explore which is one of the best aspects of this game, as it features a beautifully detailed world, instilling an epic sense of adventure. The simple yet wonderfully engaging and heart-warming storyline, as well as the characters are some of best ever designed for the series and the amount of empathy the player develops for them is a testament to that.

The 2nd in GUST's Arland Series of Atelier games, Totori improves on the solid foundations of the original, whilst bring in various tweaks and enhancements that make the game friendlier and less intimidating (who would have thought running an alchemy shop could get so intense!). With saccharine art by Kishida Mel, and a sincere story featuring multiple endings, the game is highly recommended for fans of japanese anime and jrpgs.

If you enjoyed Atelier Rorona, then you MUST get Atelier Totori. It's an improvement in every way; the story is phenomenal and puts more focus on adventuring than the previous title. While it's not as epic as saving the world, it's a more personal story about a girl becoming an adventurer in order to find her missing mother. If you enjoy JRPGs and don't mind your characters looking a bit cute then this is a title worth picking up, even if you haven't played Rorona (there are a few references here and there, but nothing too major). Also, it has an amazing soundtrack.

This is the prequel to the Atelier Rorona series featuring many similar functions in the initial series, utilizing a alchemy system to gather materials and create items, it also includes a turn base battle system. The story is pretty much similar to the original with a few minor tweaks, it also reintroduces some characters from the first series. A fun game recommended for JRPG fans.
