Disgaea 4 A Promise Unforgotten Game PS3

Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten is a sequel to Disgaea, a hardcore, turn-based strategy RPG popular on the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3. In Disgaea, character units have a limit on their movement and attack ranges, based on their level and weapons equipped. There are other special game factors that let you take advantage of the 3D battle maps, many of which are unique to Disgaea.

As the 4th installment in the series, Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten adopts an all-new graphic engine with a far greater emphasis on anime-style graphics and adopts many new game systems to make this the most epic Disgaea adventure yet!

Bigger, funnier, and more tactical than ever before, the grandfather of the strategy RPG genre returns with its best HD entry yet in Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten! A hilarious fantasy world full of vampires, werewolves, and the like combines with deep strategy roleplaying gameplay, including series mainstays like the ability to lift and throw your allies and Geoblocks, exciting stat modifying spaces on the battlefield that can completely turn the tide of a conflict. The ultimate HD Disgaea game has arrived!

  • Bigger, funnier, and better than ever before! More levels, more features, more customization options, improved visuals, deeper strategy, and a hilarious new cast make Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten the biggest and best Disgaea game yet!

Customer Reviews

Disgaea 4 is a great addition to the Disgaea franchise. Like any Disgaea game, the player can easily pour hours of gameplay into a file and still have a ton of content to explore. Disgaea 4 is definitely a worthwhile pickup for any JRPG fan as it offers a wonderful battle system with some tactical thinking required combined with amazing aesthetics.

Easily the best Disgaea yet, 4 has an absolutely huge amount of content to its name, with perhaps the best cast and story of the series. The new HD graphics make the game look like a beauty compared to its predecessors, and numerous additions to the gameplay breathe new life into a series that was getting stale. If you're a fan of Disgaea, this is well worth checking out.

Staying true to the formula which made Disgaea such a beloved series, this installment enhances the effect with its brand new and eye-catching HD sprites. The cast of characters are the most memorable since the very first game, and the mix of tongue in cheek humor and serious moments is superb. In terms of gameplay, not much has changed apart from some enhanced and expanded features such as lifting/tower building and Evilities, while the PSN online features and map editor will surely keep you entertained.

Any fan of the Disgaea series, or SRPGs should definitely consider this game, which is easily best in the series. Those new to the series will find a hilarious storyline with unique game systems such as the geoblock or lift/throw abilities, which add several layers of strategy to the game. The 35-50 hour story is only a beginning however, gradually bringing players into the vaster game. The maximum level of each character is 9999, with insane post-game content; virtually unlimited levels through the item world (explore EACH of your items to make them stronger, all with over 100 randomly generated levels), mega super bosses and even multiplayer capabilities. It is possible to play several hundred hours of Disgaea 4 without ever completing everything!

If you want a great JRPG that can take up hundreds of hours of your time, this is it. It is a turn-based strategy RPG game that is as fun as its predecessors. It is extremely addictive, and the combat system is very deep and innovative - it is also easy to learn, but extremely difficult to master. You will always try to learn new skills, acquire better weapons and equipments, and think of creative ways to chain up your combos and attacks. The only problem with this game is that it is too much like the previous games. However if you love its prequels and want more Disgaea, you should definitely get this one as well.
