Product Description

The Darkness II 2 Game PS3

The Darkness 2 breaks out of the sea of conventional first-person shooters with its fervid Quad-Wielding gameplay, which will allow players to slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with their Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons. The game is layered with the use of dark versus light, steeped in deep and twisted storytelling, and engulfed in stylistic violence that is visualized through a hand-painted graphic noir technique that stays true to its comic book origins.

The Darkness 2 will feature award-winning comic book writer, Paul Jenkins, who will provide a tightly integrated narrative that weaves dark humor with hardcore tenderness

It's been two years since Jackie Estacado, now Don of the Franchetti crime family, used The Darkness to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend's murder. He's been unable to shake the memory of Jenny's death since bottling up his supernatural power and now The Darkness wants out.

A sudden, unprovoked attack on Jackie's life heralds the start of a full-scale mob war which has clearly been orchestrated by some outside force. The botched attempt opens the door for The Darkness to re-emerge, and sets Jackie on a journey to hell and worse as he unravels the mystery behind the attack and the motivations of The Darkness itself.Suitable for 18 years and over. Not for sale to persons under age 18. By purchasing this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age and over.

  • Quad-weilding chaos: Slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with the Demon Arms while simultaneously firing weapons, adding a new dimension to the FPS category
  • Kill the lights: Vicious, flesh-eviscerating supernatural powers only manifest in the absence of light so use or create shadows for a strategic advantage
  • Gripping interactive storytelling: Intense and personal story written exclusively for the game by acclaimed comic book author Paul Jenkins whose credits also include The Incredible Hulk, Wolverine and Hellblazer
  • Distinctive graphic-noir style: Graphic novel shading and colour combined with the dramatic lighting of film noir make it feel as if you're playing a graphic novel

Where do i begin. The awesome conclusion to 2007 darkness? The Vendetta missions? It is a perfect game (with the graphics as if you Are playing a action packed comic book) This version includes so much more that has improved from the last game that you have to play yourself to experience. it's worth all of your money and time.

The Darkness 2 (PS3 version) = Have you ever been on a roller coaster that has this one really cool part but the rest kind of sucks? Yeah, The Darkness 2 is that. The demo that I played prior to buying the full version showed off how awesome dual wielding while controlling two demon snake-arm-monster things could be but what it didn't show me is that I'd be crawling through linear paths either being too powerful or enemies being too cheap. The RPG mechanic is half baked, the gun variety sucks and although there's an awesome combat engine the repetitive hall way battles don't let you use it properly. There's a few real clever things that the game does and honestly the story is pretty great once it gets going. You'll jump between two realities of being a bad ass mafia boss and a patient in a mental asylum with the truth keeping me guessing until the end. While the characterization is very adult and well done it's juxtaposed by pulling off enemy's nuts with my snake demon. I just have trouble connecting with the protagonist's loss that he feels over his dead girlfriend when his demon buddy is taking a piss on a corpse. While at times it absolutely shines I can’t help but feel like I’m not allowed to have the fun that I want to. Jump on the roller coaster if you want to hit that sweet loop the loop, but otherwise there’s way better rides at this carnival + Slick combat, Character depth - Wasted potential, Very linear 5.5/10

Super fun, great story and animation, love the combat (especially the tentacles). Gruesome, macabre, and hilarious, it's a great buy and you won't t regret the experience. You don't really need to play the first game, although plot and character-wise doing so will give you a deeper insight into Jackie as well as the source of his powers. Furthermore, for those of familiar with the first game, the change on abilities of the Darkness arms is welcome and incredibly fun, with some fantastic dismemberment combos becoming available. The leveling up of abilities is also pretty top and not too restricted, so you can really follow whatever play style you prefer the most or try out a little of everything. As a warning it is a pretty gruesome experience, so not for the kiddies or faint of heart - ripping people in half or tearing off their limbs isn't really family friendly... unless you're in Jackie's line of business.

A surprisingly visceral FPS that reflects the story and tone of the comic books. The game's presentation is its strongest point the graphics have a style akin to the comic books, the soundtrack & voice acting are good. The shooting mechanics are your standard fare, however supernatural powers that Jackie has at his disposal are the real star as they give the close quarters combat a gory sense of freedom and satisfaction. Sadly the single player story is over all too soon. For fans of the series this is well worth playing.

The Darkness, originally, was a launch title on PS3 that was fairly fun (wander around a graveyard as a human with demon powers, fighting the.. Mafia?) but not exactly stand-out and sank without a trace. Until now, when it's been given a reboot. It makes sense, there's some unique IP and the re-implementation with more powers, tighter art and voice acting makes this a great next-gen game, even if you didn't play the first. Definitely look at..
