Final Fantasy Type-0 HD PS4 Game (Includes FFXV Demo)

FINAL FANTASY for a new generation of game consoles, is almost upon us. FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 brings an immersive world, memorable characters and the production value known of the series, together with high quality gameplay and storytelling truly worthy of the FINAL FANTASY name.

This upcoming blockbuster title will transport you to the dynamic and enthralling world of Orience, where a turbulent war of nations threatens to tear the land apart.

Step into the fray as Class Zero, a group of students from an elite military academy whose country is attacked by an aggressive neighbouring Empire.

In the brutal and harrowing struggle that follows, you must engage a range of powerful magical and combat abilities using a new and exciting battle system, to defeat the Empire and uncover the secrets behind the war.

  • High Definition Visuals: The world of Orience is brought to life in rich and vivid detail, coming to modern consoles in gorgeous, newly rendered HD visuals.
  • Customisable Parties: Choose from 14 playable members of Class Zero to control, each with distinctive weapons, abilities, and combat styles.
  • High Stakes Battles: A bloody, action-packed battle system where every attack carries the weight of mortality; Enter a world where a common fire spell incinerates foes, and the deadly Killsight is an instant fatality.
  • A New Type of FINAL FANTASY Storytelling: Gritty, emotional and immersive – the story sheds light on young heroes who must cope with decisions that will mean the difference between life and death, and the rise and fall of nations.

Final Fantasy Type-0 PS4 Game Story

The year 842 would mark the beginning of the end.

In an act of unprovoked aggression, the Militesi Empire invaded the Dominion of Rubrum. Imperial dreadnoughts swarmed the skies, assailing the unsuspecting countryside in the name of the White Tiger. From amidst the flames of the besieged dominion, the Vermilion Bird rose in defiance, her crystal granting magic and mighty eidolons that her disciples might cast out their technologically advanced aggressors.

Just when it seemed as though the day might be won, however, all would soon be lost. Thrust into the tumult of war, the fate of the world and its four crystals now rests on the shoulders of fourteen brave, young warriors.

FF Type 0 is not your traditional ATB-based RPG that die-hard fans are used to. Instead, it combines the Crisis Core Formula with random encounters, interesting characters that each play differently, chocobo breeding, interesting setting and the result is a solid action-packed adventure. Setting: This FF takes a darker tone, as you witness the death of a character and its chocobo in the opening act of the game. It's set in a world of 4 different Crystal Nations(think "country"), and your "country"- The Dominion of Rubrum is currently invaded by the Milites Empire, led by an evil leader, surprisingly called Cid! Rubrum, powered by the Vermillion Bird Cystal, enables its wielders to use powerful spells, magic and almighty summons while Cid's Milites Empire employ sophisticated weaponry, machinery and technology to overwhelm its foes. A Crystal Jammer is deployed into the heart of Rubrum, effectively jamming the Vermillion Bird Crystal and as a result, the combatants, spell casters and summoners of Rubrum loses their power to fight back, effectively enabling the Milites empire to invade in full force. This is where Class 0 comes in, the 14-playable characters that you'll control directly on the battlefield, surprisingly, their magic is still intact and they are able to help drive the Milites Empire back. The Good: +Interesting Class 0 Characters +HD makeover for important characters, they look great! +Great combat - fast paced and engaging +Interesting backstory and politics of different Crystal Nations +Chocobo Breeding +Has world map (Looking at you, awfully linear FF 13!!) +Strong opening The Bad: -Environments look bland, VERY bland, you'll notice it immediately -Minor Characters do not look as good as the HD main characters - very jarring when interacting with the HD characters -Can only accept one side quest at a time(requires 2 playthroughs if you are a completionist) -Summoning is a trade off that kills off one of your playable characters -Story falls flat towards the end -Lots of grinding to keep all party members at the same level -Some enemies require ranged attacks to defeat(you'll suffer a defeat if your ranged characters are all dead)

Completely different concept to what I was expecting from a Final Fantasy game, especially because I didn't get the chance to play it when it first came out (obviously only a Japanese release). The dynamics can be difficult to get used to and seem like you have too many choices, but the lore and store, even the graphics. It is so worth a play through. Or multiple play throughs.

Personally had not played (or even heard of) this game from the final fantasy franchise before purchasing. I'm about half way through now and so far it has been a really enjoyable experience. The combat is pretty fun with each character having their own play style, making the characters interesting and when switching in contact, can drastically change the outcome. Graphics are nice for the most part (though you can see which assets they didn't update)and playability / playtime value seems to be good (personally about 20 or so hours in doing side quests and all) The inclusion of the FFXV demo was nice and I'm really looking forward to that release too!

Great game. I mainly bought if for the FFXV demo but FF Type-0 was still worth playing. Compared to the PSP version, the main character models have improved. The story can take some time to getting used to but still a worthy product to pick up
