Mario Party 8 is the first Wii instalment of the popular Mario Party series.
Like previous Mario Party titles, this is a fantastic party game with your favourite characters from the Mario universe, organised in the spirit of traditional board games but with the addition of several 'minigames' to spice up the challenge. Characters roll dice, move on a board and can perform certain interactions on specific situations or via items they collect. At the end of each turn players are involved in humorous simple mini games, that require reflexes, intuition and logic.
Mario party 8 on the Wii goes back to the classic formula of four players at most; however Mario Party 8 on the Wii takes full advantage of the Wii remote to inject unique and energetic gameplay in to the Mario Party.

Mario Party 8 is an excellent game for any party! Or even if its just you and one other. Its a board game and a fun video game in one that easy for even the most novice of any video gamer. The mini games are different every time and it gives every one a change to win at least one game! Even my fiance can win at mario party 8 lol! I would highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for some easy going fun! :)

Mario party 8 is a great party game I have this game set up for the primary school ages kids at work and the love it. The mini games are easy to play and understand and the game itself is lods of fun a recommendation for kids tho is just to get them to play the mini games then swap but with 4 players I doubt most people we will to be swapping the controllers around. Great game works well even In a childcare environment and that says something huge.

I am not a Nintendo purist. However the games I will always buy and play on a Nintendo console I own would be Mario Kart and Mario Party. They are both great for a fun night with friends or family. When my friends and I play any Mario Party (which is essentially a kids game) we treat it as a device to screw over other people and do evil things. Must play for a Wii owner. Also MP8 may be easier to win for males than females.

I have always enjoyed the Mario Party series as a party game with a lot of mini games to compete against others with. This version of Mario Party tries to incorporate Wii motion control into the game and I'm not sure it succeeds. I find that the mini games that do are hit and miss, and can ultimately be frustrating to play. It doesn't ruin the game, but I still prefer the retro Mario Party 2 on N64.

A game within a game!
This game is a board game with mini games thrown into the mix. Basically you roll the dice and move your players around a board following a path of your choosing, simple enough. depending on where you land there is sometimes a chance to play a game that can earn you goodies to use in the board game. Definitely good family fun!
