Learn more about usMetroid Other M looks fantastic on the Wii, and takes a lot of control movements to get through those levels.
A great lot of weapons and abilities to tackle those monsters down you encounter, careful though monsters may be hiding so point towards the screen and search out your enemies with Samus' scanner!

Quite challenging, and puzzling game for the Metroid fans out there!
Completely unalike to the Metroid: Prime series, Metroid: Other M is rather a story-telling experience and combines a classic 'metroidvania' style of gameplay with an interchanging first person view.
Although it doesn't exactly hold up against any games of the Metroid: Prime series, by itself it is a great platformer and a definite must for those attempting to piece together the elusive Metroid storyline (as Other M explains event occuring directly after Metroid: Fusion and provides Samus with a voiced role unlike all other games).
Metroid: Other M is the odd one out in the Metroid family (not counting Pinball of course). The mix of traditional NES controls and motion controls is nice without being too bothersome and the action is fast and fluid as Team Ninja is known for, but the real problem is the story and presentation. While I didn't find it abysmal, I seem to be in the minority. Samus' usual cold personality is replaced with someone more prone to emotional lapses than we're used to, and it seems odd to be presented with a heroine who, in this game, appears so unlike herself. The story could have been told better without eviscerating the character and personality that's been built up for the last two decades.

Other M is, perhaps, a story that didn't need to be told, but I found the gameplay to be fantastic, and some of if not the best on the Wii (I do like old-school action games). If you can get past the story as the melodrama it is, you'll find something enjoyable underneath the soap opera.
This game is just ok. It's not great, it's not terrible, and it's no where close to being the best in the series. However, despite it's flaws and short comings, it's still a lot of fun to play. If you're like me, and you expected it to follow the classic metroid formula, you'll definitely be let down. Go into it with an open mind, and you'll find yourself enjoying it a lot more.
One of the best franchises on the Nintendo, the developer of Metroid Other M Team Ninja went a different direction with Metroid as the game is a combination of side scrolling and first person shooter gameplay with a storyline that is a little generic with sub par voice acting, not as deep as the previous installments but nonetheless its still a great game
