Learn more about usPandoras Tower is all about the chain, which makes for some creative combat, which never gets old. But what does get old is the same enemies appearing in each tower and re-spawning when you exit, and re-enter the room. But the engrossing story and good voice acting makes up for it.
Graphics are old school in a not so good way. The game play is old school in a much better way. What kept me going were the creative and enjoyable boss fights and more so the excellent cut scenes where the princess has to keep eating beast flesh. Almost fetishistic close ups and dramatic pauses. Well directed.
Pandora's Tower falls slightly short of being a great Zelda clone, but nonetheless is a worthwhile play. Although the puzzles are no where near the standards of Link's dungeons, they do breathe some life into the game. The story is...interesting, whether that's a good thing or not is entirely up for interpretation. The chain, which is the selling point of PT, does it's job in creating an innovative style of play. Motion control was done very well but unfortunately the camera angles can be very hindering when trying to target specific body parts. Overall, an enjoyable but slightly repetitive experience.
Pandoras Tower is one of the big three RPG's for the Wii in 2011/12, the other two being Xenoblade and The Last Story. Like the Last Story, the emphasis is on the relationship we build with the characters while we play. Gameplay, while tight and respectable, takes a back seat. It doesnt join all the dots like TLS, and it isnt the sprawling RPG fest Xenoblade is, but with an outstanding soundtrack and a genuine love story at it's center, it had to rank as my favourite of the three, with TLS a close second. An unforgettable RPG that'll have you involved from in from start to finish. Highly recommended.
Im a game collector and bought this as a limited edition and also normal version, and let me say this is awesome,Amazing graphics, soundtrack, story and immensive gameplay in my opinion. Will be holding onto this for a very long time, not many rpgs on the wii but this is up there with The Last Story :)Highly recommend
