In Xenoblade Chronicles X, you've flown away from Earth, and set up on a new planet. You get to explore this planet, mine resources, kill things to gather more resources and ultimately build mechs to pilot around in. It's a long game that stresses exploration and fighting over story. It's definitely something different on the Wii U
Xenoblade Chronicles X is an excellent JRPG. Its massive world was a ton of fun to explore. The battle system is takes a while to get used to but is serviceable. The weakest aspect would be its story but even then it was enjoyable. The graphics are quite good although its running on weaker hardware. I can't wait for Monolith Soft's next game!
Xenoblade Chronicles X is amazing. Story: Very interesting and unique setting and story. Gameplay: Gameplay is really fun. There is a ton of exploration, and just when you think you might start to get bored of running around exploring, you are given a massive robot to traverse in. Once again, if you think you might start getting bored with that, you'll be given the ability to fly in it. The combat is really fun, exciting, really intense at times, and your options for abilities and weapons etc. is huge. Audio: Sound track is awesome, however one downside is that sometimes you can't hear the dialogue over the music very well, which can be a bit distracting. You pretty much need to have subtitles enabled. Visuals: The world is absolutely beautiful. The graphics are pretty good. The draw distance is just unbelievable. Only downside, is that the animation during most cutscenes is pretty limited. One thing about this game is that it is absolutely massive! I have put in about 64 hours so far, and I've probably only done about half the main story quests. I still have an entire continent that I haven't even entered yet. I've probably only done about 40% of the game's content. It's insane. And I'm not tired of it or burnt out. I can't get enough.
The World a huge! I've played for 60 hours so far and feel as though I've barely started. I have only visited 3/5 of the regions. The combat style is not what I was expecting so I hated it at first but now I love it - nothing like Monster Hunter. The graphics are nice and the story is enjoyable. Once I got my skell I felt like a Transformer. If you like exploring or being a Transformer, you will love this game. As someone who rarely finishes games I highly recommend Xenoblade X. There's a lot of content - well worth the money as you'll easily get over 100 hours out of this.
Considering the world is 5 times bigger than the first game, I think it's safe to assume it deserves 5 times the 140 hours I put into the first game. This one is supposed to be centered more on exploration and gameplay, Takahashi himself said that plot will not be a focal point this time around but I don't believe him considering drastic plot branches are a big part of this game. Xenoblade X looks like it's gonna rock hard in absolutely every department.
