Product Description

Assassin's Creed III 3 (Classics) Xbox 360 Game

From Revelations to Revolution

Building on the rich storyline established in previous games in the series, this new entry into the Assassin's Creed saga is the most expansive and ambitious offering yet, bringing tantalising new revelations on the ongoing war between the Assassins Brotherhood and the Knights Templar.

Set in 18th century Colonial America during the time of the Revolutionary War, Assassin's Creed 3 introduces gamers to a new protagonist in the form of Connor Kenway, a half-English, half-Native American man, who becomes unwittingly drawn into the conflict after his home is attacked by colonists.

Featuring a variety of significant historical figures from the period, such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, General Lafayette and King George III, as well as brilliantly realised recreations of 18th century cities including Boston and New York, Assassin's Creed 3 continues the series' tradition of bringing history vividly to life in a fresh and exciting new way, with scenarios rarely seen in the world of videogames.

And the action won't just be confined to the cities. Players will also have the opportunity to explore the vast untamed frontier, engaging in pursuits never-before-seen in the Assassin's Creed franchise, like hunting a variety of wild animals. You'll even be able to skin the animals and trade their pelts as part of the enhanced in-game economy. There will be a variety of new weapons to play with too, including bayonets, bows, tomahawks and rope darts.

In addition to the 18th century action, Assassin's Creed 3 will also focus more heavily on present day events in the life of series mainstay Desmond Miles as the ever-deepening Templar conspiracy finally reaches its shocking conclusion.

  • Eliminate your foes with an expanded arsenal of weaponry including bows, pistols, the tomahawk and the signature blade of the Assassin's Order
  • Explore densely populated cities, situated along the vast wilderness of a dangerous frontier
  • An all new game engine delivers the brutality and beauty of a nation caught in an epic war for independence

There is certainly enough production value in this instalment of the series to make it worth your time and money. However, in the midst of the multitude of developers that have evidently put this title together, there is surprisingly large of amount of missteps in this game. The game has an absurdly long 'prologue' that teaches you the core mechanics so slowly that it's mind bogglingly annoying for veterans of the series. And when that prologue finally ends, all the sudden you can do a million different things and barely any of it feels like it's been taught to you - I went through a large portion of the game without fully understanding several mechanics or aspects. There are a multitude of side missions that are utterly boring and numerous mechanics that you'll barely use or completely forget about it because they are completely unnecessary or simply not fun. The story line, although interesting for the most part, also seems to make some tedious diversions here and there. Luckily for everyone, you can avoid the boring parts and it won't detract at all from what makes this franchise great. The free-running and parkour is as enjoyable as ever (even though the city environments are not nearly as intricate and fun to run about it in as they were in AC2), and the general combat mechanics are very solid with some dynamite and brutal animations. Ultimately this game has some very noticeable cracks that are appearing under the game's own weight; and even the graphics engine is really beginning to show its age here; but you can avoid the boring parts and still have great experience that's certainly worth playing. Definitely still would recommend for fans of the series, however for newcomers, stay well away and start first at Assassin's Creed 2! You will have a far better time.

The Assissins Creed series just keeps getting better. The storyline in this (and every other AC game) is complex and well thought out. You become immersed in a world with amazing graphics, historical gameplay and brilliant character depictions. The open world is a common theme in current adventure games, but the landscape and scope of AC3 is something special. Overall, I don't see how this series can get any better. Perfect.

No more Altair or Ezio Auditore, a new character, a new take on Assassin's Creed! Even more stealth tactics and weapons to employ in the newest entry into the Assassin's Creed series... Amazing graphics, life like animations and hours and hours of gameplay, this game is a must have for all Assassin's Creed fans! Take a leap of faith!

I love the Assassin's Creed series, the stories are in-depth, the characters are full of life and unique and you get not only a great playing experience but also a bit of a history lesson at the same time. This game is not much different, although I can say things could have been done better this time around, with all the hype around the initial promotion of the game, I expected more, not saying it is a bad game by any stretch, but it unfortunately hasn't brought back that spark in me that the previous AC games have. But if you are new to this series, I'd say, still give it a go, it's not a bad game at all, just not comparable to the experience of past titles.
