Product Description

Killer Instinct Combo Breaker Xbox One Game

Killer Instinct was always sort of dumb -- the goofy Mortal Kombat knock-off with a skeleton, a dinosaur, and dudes named TJ Combo (ugh) and Fulgore (what?). In hindsight, Killer Instinct was kind of embarrassing. But we still connected to it. Who doesn’t want to see a ninja fist-fight a werewolf?

Killer Instinct on Xbox One is still really, really stupid. It’s also pretty awesome.

More Street Fighter IV than traditional Killer Instinct in speed and style, this reboot isn’t just looking at how it can bring Rare’s classic back to life, but how it can reinvigorate it. The 2D fighter has changed significantly since 1994, and developer Double Helix recognizes it.

Killer Instinct is fast on Xbox One, unrecognizably so. Aside from the presence of Sabrewulf (ugh) and Jago (what?), you might mistake this for an entirely new game. The bright colors, and thick, black outlines give the characters, who take up a healthy amount of on-screen real estate, a comic book-style shade. Their combos are quick and flow naturally -- I found myself slipping into an awesome combo accidentally, Marvel vs. Capcom style, often.

The move sets are simple, the stylish and devastating Ultra Combos are easy to execute, and the Combo Breaker makes you feel like a badass. It’s basically just a parry with a fancy name, but Killer Instinct regards it so highly that it’s hard not to feel the surge of satisfaction every time you escape an onslaught of frightening kicks. Every big counter feels like an event, and it can totally change the flow of a fight when your opponent's left exposed after your escape.

Familiar, yes, but this is definitely Killer Instinct done differently (and arguably better).

Killer Instinct is a day-one digital-only release on Xbox One, and features -- get this -- one character. Jago is free to play on launch day. Everyone else -- unspecified returning characters as well as original fighters -- will cost money. Price is to-be-determined (of course).

Is this the start of a new trend? With Xbox Live Arcade vanishing into the greater Games Marketplace, perhaps free-to-play is the new trial version, and you'll nickel and dime your way to a more complete version. Hopefully trials of some sort will still mandated so players can try out everything as it hits Xbox Live.

Please Note: The Insert inside the case is Polish but the code and the game plays in full English

Good things come to those who wait. After three years filled with content and with the added Shadow Lords mode Killer Instinct evolved from an ugly duckling that hardly didn’t offer any content to a potential prospect for the beat-em-up throne.

I bought this game from here, but got it on xbox one store free with gold subscription while waiting for it to come in the mail. The game is very fast and fun. I think it is a very welcoming upgrade to the arcade classic. When I pulled off a 58 move combo it was so exciting, I have even seen a video of someone doing a 300+ combo. Very cool game with great physics and easy to control moves. I would of loved to of seen a animated story with plenty of cut scenes as well as a better graphic update, and that is why is gets 4 stars

This game is probably the best exclusive t fighter that Xbox One has though that doesn't mean much. Killer Instinct is a relatively fun game with a few interesting characters and interesting stages but again like many games now days, lacks diversity. It is also a highly expensive game as they're constantly releasing different packs for new characters and various seasons of the games. It's a confusing mess and whilst a good game isn't worth investing in.

With the recent history and hate that the Xbox franchise has taken it's easy to understand why a game like this would get some hate but as everyone should know with hate comes rumours. -No KIller Instinct does not only come with one character(unless you download the demo) The game is however announced 6 current playable and the possibility of a season 2 pack(6 more characters) to be to be released later next year which is still quite disappointing considering the amount that was in the older K.I games. The upside however is you have several choices on purchasing. The higher the amount the more you get so if you pay the price it's listed here you would get the full game, all costumes and the first ever released Emulated version of Killer Instinct 1(with possible online play). If you cannot or do not want to pay that much you can pay as less as $20 you would get just the game and characters (on xbox live only) and if your a orchid only kind of guy then you can just download the demo and pay for the characters you would use separately. one of the biggest disappointments was that the game has lost it's feel from the older K.I but considering the 2nd came out in 1996 it's hard to expect it to be the same despite the inner gamer within wanting it to be. if you are new to the series however then you shouldn't have to break a sweat. I would suggest watching http://www.youtube.com/user/Miles923 as he is always on the spot with information that comes out including his videos talking about the feel of the game and how it's changed over time as well as talking to the directors personally and reports with very little biased opinion as he also discusses the issues he has had. The review written by ozgames in my opinion complete utter bullshit considering they are supposed to review with proper information but considering the details i'd say they jumped on the game a bit too early before proper information was to be released, but misinformation is still misinformation. 3 stars due the fact the game hasn't been released, the lack of characters and availability on the game itself. The game does however look amazing and bring back so many good memories alongside running at a beautiful 60fps.
